Sign in, pick-up name tag, and get conference swag at the
Check-in. Check-in is at the Marriott, 2nd floor and is open during the
following times:
Thursday from 11:30am to 1:30pm, 3:30pm to 6:30pm Friday
starting at 7:30am *You do not need check in before Field Sessions. There will
be a student volunteer at each Field Session with a sign in sheet.
Where do I go for Field Sessions?
Field Session 1, SketchCrawl LEX 2020: A Walk through
History begins at 1pm. Meet at the Old Fayette County Courthouse at the
southeast corner near the LEX sign. Bring your own sketch supplies including
sketchbook, pens, pencils or whatever media you choose. Sketchbooks will be
provided to the first 10 participants, thanks to our sponsorship by Anova.
Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and bring a rain jacket.
Field Session 2, Historic Preservation &
Sustainability on a Challenging Site: The University of Kentucky’s Gatton
Student Center begins at 3pm. Meet at the oval-shaped plaza off S. Limestone
Street (new entrance between historic Student Center and Alumni Gym).

There is a large underground parking garage below the
Marriott building that is accessible off of Vine Street. The cost is $2/hr or
$12/day. Additionally there is on-street metered parking and other various
garages downtown. Or bike!!
What should I do about the Coronavirus?
With the Caronavirus (COVID-19) in the news, we want to
ensure that you are safe during your trip to Kentucky ASLA conference in
Lexington. We will continue to monitor the CDC recommendations. During the
conference events, please continue to take basic precautions such as washing
your hands often with soap and water, avoid close contact with people who are
sick and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Claire Agre, RLA, ASLA, Principal & Co-founder, Unknown Studio
Claire Agre, Partner and Co-founder, brings humor, passion, and conceptual clarity to projects of all scales and types. Claire moved home to Baltimore after 20-years abroad and afield, north, east and south. Most recently and prior to founding Unknown Studio, Claire was Principal-in-Charge and Senior Landscape Architect at West 8 New York.
With a background in painting and field ecology, Claire has led design and implementation for a diverse portfolio of projects, including the Master Plan and Hills Phase of Governors Island Park and Public Spaces, Miami Beach Soundscape Park, the 1000-acre, 40-year Master Plan for Longwood Gardens and its award-winning Main Fountain Garden Revitalization, Duke University Sculpture Park, and the winning entry for Changing Course—an interdisciplinary, international design competition seeking solutions for the disappearing Lower Mississippi Delta. Claire led the multidisciplinary design and engineering team responsible for Phase 1 of the Houston Botanic Garden, a collection garden founded on ideals of diversity and resilience, slated to open on Sims Bayou, Southeast Houston, in 2020.
Claire holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University. She is a licensed Landscape Architect in Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, New York and Pennsylvania. A clear and compelling speaker, she has lectured and taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, University of Toronto, University of Texas, University of Oregon, University of British Columbia and the Rhode Island School of Design.
Nick Glase, RLA, ASLA, RA, AIA, Principal & Co founder, Unknown Studio
Nick Glase, Partner and co-founder, has a passion for both systems thinking and fine-grain detail, thriving at multiple scales of design. Throughout Nick’s practice, he has specialized in public realm, institutional, and ecological projects. He is a Registered Landscape Architect and a Licensed Architect, bringing extensive knowledge and experience to his engagement with clients and stakeholders, from concept design through construction and maintenance.
Nick’s prior experience includes leadership roles at the landscape architecture offices of SCAPE, West 8, and Reed Hilderbrand. Major landscape projects under his leadership include Town Branch Commons in Lexington, KY; the United States Golf Association Headquarters in Liberty Corners, NJ; Tomorrowland at Disney Shanghai; Yale University’s Science Hill Campus; Miami Beach Square and District Plan; and the Pete V. Domenici Courthouse in Albuquerque, NM. Early in his career as a practicing architect, he was a co-founding architect at ProjectFrog, now an industry leader in high-performance prefab buildings.
Nick earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, where he graduated with the college’s top awards for design and research. Nick has served as a Visiting Critic and guest juror at Cornell University, Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Ohio State’s Knowlton School of Architecture, Columbia University, Rhode Island School of Design, UC Berkeley, and California College of the Arts.
He is active in the ASLA and AIA, and currently holds licenses in Landscape Architecture in Maryland, Delaware, and New York, and is licensed to practice Architecture in California.
